This morning I got up early to go vote. Well I wouldn’t say early – I just got up when I’m actually supposed to instead of lounging around in bed for those extra 20 minutes that always makes me late for work.
Anyway, I got up and went into to vote. And today for the first time in all my years of voting I got to experience the awesomeness that is the volunteers who run the voting location. Because I knew finally changing my last name had to have some sort of long-term effect…
I went in gave my ID and name. The lady was very confused because there I wasn’t in her system. I asked her to look for it under my maiden name. Ta-da! So a nice man came over and asked me to come fill out a few forms. I filled out all the forms updating my name change. He very politely reviewed the two forms to make sure I’d filled everything out. Seriously who makes those boxes so tiny and close together. They’re hard to read and even harder to fill out! But we got everything done quickly and without any fuss. Then he kindly walked me back to the line to check me in.
And very quickly I was filling in my bubbles, putting the ballot into the machine and being handed my sticker. I swear it doesn’t matter how old I am – the sticker is one of my favorite parts!
So today I thank all the volunteers that run the voting locations around the country. They get there early. They stay late. I can only imagine that they hear more rude and unmannerly things then they wish. So I am thankful for those who take the time out of their lives to help us all with our civic duty.
Thank you voting volunteers!
Also – don’t forget to vote!

Too many people only share their complaints about things…I feel it’s best to put out the good karma and share the good about things 🙂 Glad you enjoyed!

Well so I have the first 20,000 words. And now with NaNo I’m writing random scenes scattered throughout the second half of the book. Hopefully once I’m through November I’ll have the entire novel – just need to start putting it in order and adding those smooth transitions that I’m so NOT good at 🙂 I hope to post a few more scenes and such here to get some feedback – glad to know someone is reading my stuff!

The word count is accomplishment in itself but I am similar to you. How can I improve it! Haha. I’m being super dumb and lazy but I can’t find your novel anywhere. Do you have a link or can you tell me where to find it? I would definitely like to go over it. I would call you my first NANO friend haha. My novel is decrepit by comparison. So far it is a notebook page of planning haha. I always was a procrastinator. I’m very encouraged to hear how your novel is coming along and that you plan on being able to tweak it before november is through. Getting to know a person really enhances your enjoyment of their writing. Well good luck once again with the novel and blogging. Hope you have a good evening!

If you go to my home blog page there’s a tab that says The Judas Tree – that’s my novel! Well I have the prologue up and I think a snippet of the first chapter. I can’t remember what I’ve put up here. Haha. And if you’re signed up for NaNo you can find me under LadyBoyce4511 and we we can be writing buddies. All though I don’t have anything but a description of my novel there – just haven’t had the time. Those prolific writers out there really give me a complex about finding the time to write! 🙂 Keep up the planning – seriously I STILL do that even this far into my novel. It helps more than you would believe.

I like the stickers, too. Sorry, I don’t have a useful comment; I just had to throw that out there. I’m totally stoked to vote tonight and get my sticker.

The sticker is a seriously the best reward! 🙂 It’s why I went with my parents when I was a kid.
