Tap. Tap. Tap. 

She lightly flicked her finger against the window. The thick glass gave a soft thump in response but that was it. Even her finger print didn’t stay long, despite the cold temperatures.

Tap. Tap. Tap. 

She knew that even though the family was sitting mere feet from her they couldn’t hear her tapping. They couldn’t see her longing. They had no idea they were being watched.

Tap. Tap. Tap. 

They were all smiling and laughing. It was such a cozy warm scene. Only she knew what secrets were held in the hearts of the visually happy family.

Tap. Tap. Tap. 

The father figure was just that, a mere figure. He had another family one town over he was neglecting to be happy with this one for the evening. He only loved himself and what made him feel good in that moment.

Tap. Tap. Tap. 

The mother was aware of her husbands other family. She didn’t care as long as he didn’t find out about her boyfriend. The boyfriend that was also dating her husbands other daughter.

Tap. Tap. Tap. 

The two teenagers were blissfully unaware of their parents inability to be truthful. They only cared that the allowances flowed freely and the curfews were never enforced. They looked forward towards the next party.

Tap. Tap. Tap. 

But she knew all their secrets. She’d watched them for a while now. Ever since she’d learned of their existence.

Tap. Tap. Tap. 

She knew her father was a liar. Her boyfriend was a liar. And these teenagers didn’t care she hadn’t had anything to eat all week.

Tap. Tap. Tap. 

Now was her time. Time to reveal each dark secret. Now was time to make her presence known.
